Professor Francis T.S. Yu , from School of Electrical Engineering ,The Pennsylvania State University ,visited the school of Information Science and Engineering.

Professor Francis T.S. Yu was the consultant of many industrial department and government labs, he has published nearly 500 papers. Because of the remarkable contribution to physics and engineering, he was awarded the Gold Medal of Scholar.Also, he is the fellow of OSA, SPIE, PSC, and the life fellow of IEEE.

He gave a wonderful lecture on Fiber optics and holography, In the lecture, he made a detailed introduction to the fiber optic technology and holography. After the lecture, Professor Francis T.S. Yu patiently answered every question of students. It takes 2 hours for the whole lecture, many students benefited a lot.
